Candidate endorsements

June 21, 2022

At this point in the election cycle, candidates often begin to endorse other candidates in public communications. A public communication in which a federal candidate endorses another candidate is not a contribution to the endorsing candidate unless the communication promotes or supports the endorsing candidate or attacks or opposes that candidate’s opponent. For more information on ways candidates can support one another in campaign materials and public communications, see our Support from other campaigns web page. Corporations and labor organizations should consult this page for more rules on endorsing candidates before the restricted class or the general public.
