Online SSF solicitations

October 25, 2021

Many organizations that sponsor a PAC—a separate segregated fund (SSF)—maintain a website to provide information about the committee. If that website includes a solicitation for the SSF, that portion of the site must be password-protected to ensure only individuals in the solicitable “restricted class” have access. The SSF must also ensure that any part of the site accessible to those beyond the restricted class includes a statement that federal law prohibits soliciting contributions outside the restricted class, and that such contributions will be returned.

For more information, visit our Online solicitations for the SSF web page.
