Delayed processing of paper filings

June 18, 2020

Despite the resumption of limited mail operations at the FEC, the processing of campaign finance reports filed on paper may be delayed. As a result, paper filers may continue to receive non-filer letters. Nevertheless, filers should continue to file their reports on time. Reports sent by registered mail, overnight delivery, or certified mail, are considered filed with the FEC as of the date of the postmark. Reports submitted by first-class mail will be considered filed when actually received by Commission staff, subject to delays resulting from the agency’s limited mail processing.
