Only candidates file 48-hour notices for $1,000+ contributions
PACs and parties are often confused by the last-minute reporting requirements discussed in last week's tip.
Keep in mind that PACs and party committees are not required to file 48-hour notices to disclose large last-minute contributions. Those notices are only filed by campaigns.
PACs and party committees, however, must file 24-hour reports of independent expenditures they have made. For more information on reporting independent expenditures, please review our website on filing 24-hour reports for PACs and party committees.
