October reporting reminders

October 11, 2016

Quarterly filers have a report due Saturday, October 15, and monthly filers have a report due Thursday, October 20. Both cover activity through September 30.

Please note that the FEC does not have authority to extend filing deadlines, even when they fall on weekends or holidays. Quarterly filers should plan accordingly. Reports sent by registered, certified or overnight mail must be postmarked no later than October 15, and paper filings sent by other means must be received by close of business on/before the last business day before the deadline (i.e., Friday, October 14). Electronic filers have until 11:59 p.m. ET on October 15 to submit their reports on time.

Staff in the Reports Analysis Division and Electronic Filing Office will be available until 8:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, October 14 to answer questions regarding the content and filing of reports. To reach RAD, call 1-800-424-9530 (press 5) or 202-694-1130. For help with technical issues relating to electronic filing, dial the same toll-free number and press 4. The E-Filing Office can also be reached locally at 202-694-1307.

For additional reporting information for all types of filers, consult this Record article and and our Reporting FAQs page.
