New candidate salary and tech modernization rules take effect

March 4, 2024

Two sets of new regulations took effect March 1. The first adjusts the candidate compensation eligibility criteria, as well as the timing and amount of salary payments from the campaign. The second modernizes FEC regulations to account for technological advances in communications, recordkeeping and financial transactions. Summaries of the candidate salary and technological modernization rules (including links to the regulations themselves) are available on FEC.gov.
