Independent expenditures disclosed in the first seven days of October totaled $27.1 million. The following tables summarize information submitted on reports between October 1 and October 7, 2004 . For an explanation of this new disclosure required by the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002, see the Commission''''s news release dated October 5.
