FEC to host June 15 Trade Association PAC Webinar (2022)

May 2, 2022
June 15, 2022 Trade Association Webinar Header

The Commission will hold a one-day online seminar for trade associations and their political action committees (PACs) on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. These interactive workshops are designed for those seeking an introduction to the basic provisions of the law as well as for those more experienced in campaign finance law.

Attendees can choose one of two options. Option 1 includes three sessions: a morning session, Basics for Beginners, which will introduce federal campaign finance laws, regulations, and reporting requirements to those new to federal committees; and a two-part Trade Association PAC Operations webinar in the afternoon, which will go into much more detail on fundraising and disclosure rules that apply to trade association PACs. Option 2, for those with more experience, includes just the two afternoon sessions.

During the webinar, Commission staff from the Information and Reports Analysis Divisions will explain the campaign finance rules that apply to these types of committees and lead participants through different reporting scenarios based on common activity. Throughout the training, participants will be able to interact with presenters and hosts through a Q&A function and poll questions.

Note: This webinar is tailored to PACs set up and administered by trade associations. Webinars for corporate PACs and membership/labor organization PACs will be held on May 11 and May 25, respectively.

The training will take place via Zoom Webinar. An email containing a link to workshop materials, technical information and additional instructions will be sent to registered participants on June 14, 2022.
