FEC OPEN MEETING WEDNESDAY AUGUST 1
The Federal Election Commission (FEC/ the Commission) will meet at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2007, to consider an Advisory Opinion Request (AOR) from the Reyes Committee, Inc. (TX/16), a joint AOR from the California Republican Party and the California Democratic Party, and the audit of the Ted Poe for Congress (TX/2) election campaign.
The FEC will consider an AOR from the Reyes Committee, Inc., regarding a proposed fundraising golf tournament hosted by Congressman Silvestre Reyes. The Reyes Committee asked the FEC what wording it may use on signs to recognize the individuals who sponsor golf holes at the tournament. The AOR, along with any comments received prior to the meeting, can be found under "Pending Advisory Opinion Requests" at http://saos.fec.gov/saos/searchao.
The FEC will consider a joint AOR from the California Republican Party and the California Democratic Party. The parties asked how they may publicize state party fundraisers that include Federal candidates or officeholders as featured speakers or honored guests. The AOR, along with any comments received prior to the meeting, can be found under "Pending Advisory Opinion Requests" at http://saos.fec.gov/saos/searchao. Finally, the FEC will also consider the audit of the Ted Poe for Congress election campaign.
The meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the 9th floor hearing room at the Commission’s offices at 999 E Street N.W. in Washington.
The Federal Election Commission (FEC) is an independent regulatory agency that administers and enforces federal campaign finance laws.
