FEC Chairman Lee E. Goodman and Vice Chair Ann M. Ravel to Host Public Forum on Political Parties [UPDATED]

As Chairman and Vice Chair of the Federal Election Commission for 2014, we invite you to join us on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. for an informal public forum to discuss agency operations that affect local, state, and national political parties with Commissioners and senior staff.  This discussion is intended to help us evaluate and improve our administration of the law with respect to political parties and the agency’s service to the public, and will address operational aspects of the Commission’s dealings with political party committees, including interactions with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Office, the Audit Division, the Office of the General Counsel, and the Reports Analysis Division.  Topics may include issues relating to the audit process, recordkeeping guidance, or compliance assistance on the issues that are common to party committees (such as volunteer participation and coordination questions). 

The forum will be open to the public and press.  The forum will be held in the FEC’s ninth-floor hearing room, located at 999 E Street, NW, Washington D.C., on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. until noon.  Those wishing to participate may do so either in person or online, via live audio feed and chat room.  If you would like to attend the forum in person, participate via webcast, or if you are unable to attend but would like to submit written comments, please email us at politicalpartyforum@fec.gov.  Capacity is limited, so please respond promptly. 

Alternatively, if you would just like to listen, a live audio feed will be available through FEC.gov and requires no pre-registration.  Please note that this meeting will focus solely on improving the Commission’s administration of the law and service to the public.  If the discussion raises issues that suggest the need to consider revisions to or adoption of regulations or procedures, we will address such issues through our standard, formal procedures.
