FEC Announces Upcoming Hearings

ADVISORY TO DAYBOOK EDITORS, CORRESPONDENTS:

The following hearings at the Federal Election Commission, or involving the Commission, are listed for your planning purposes:

Wednesday, February 24, 10 a.m.

Public hearing on 1996 Committee on Arrangements for the Republican National Convention (stemming from FEC audit).

Thursday, February 25, 10 a.m.

Regular open meeting of the FEC. Included on the agenda are an advisory opinion; continuing discussion of audit reports from 1996 Presidential campaigns; 1999 legislative recommendations; Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on the Electronic Freedom of Information Act (EFOIA); and other items (see Sunshine Notice dispatched to you last week). Dates of other scheduled upcoming open meetings are March 4, 11, 18, and 25, and April 15, 21, and 29

(all agendas TBA).

Tuesday, March 9, 10 a.m.

Hearing, House Appropriations Subcommittee on Treasury, Postal Service, and General Government, FEC budget request for FY’2000.

Wednesday, March 17, 10 a.m.
