WASHINGTON -- The Federal Election Commission has scheduled extended hours for the Public Records Office to accommodate press and public seeking review of campaign disclosure reports filed by Presidential, Senate and House candidates, PACs, and political party committees. From January 30 through February 3 (Monday – Friday) the hours are 9 a.m. - 7p.m. Year-end reports include financial activity through December 31, 2005, and are due by close of business Tuesday, January 31, 2006, if sent by regular mail or hand-delivered. If sent by certified or registered mail, these reports must be postmarked by midnight of the due date. Reports sent via express or priority mail or via overnight delivery service will also be considered timely filed if received by the delivery service by the filing date. Electronically filed reports must be received by midnight, Eastern Time, on the filing date. Senate campaigns file their reports with the Secretary of the Senate, who then transmits the reports to the FEC. Presidential, House, PAC, and party committees file their reports with the FEC.
