Contribution limits in special elections

A special election is considered a separate election with a separate contribution limit. (Note that a special election may itself involve separate special primary, special general and/or special runoff elections. Each would have a separate contribution limit.) When reporting contributions made in connection with a special election, be sure to check the appropriate box for type of election, and indicate that it is a special election (e.g., "2017 special primary," "2017 special general" or "2017 special runoff," as appropriate, in the cases of current special elections).
