Commission votes to update Statement of Organization (FEC Form 1) to include new registration options

January 25, 2022

On January 13, 2022, the Commission voted to instruct FEC staff to modify the Statement of Organization (FEC Form 1) to include options to register as an independent expenditure only committee (Super PAC) or committee with a non-contribution account (Hybrid PAC). Currently, these committees register by attaching a cover letter to the Statement of Organization that expresses their intention to operate as a Super PAC or Hybrid PAC.

The new options will be included on the paper form and online webform, and will also be added to FECFile and the electronic filing specifications for other filing software. Stay tuned to the Record for an announcement regarding the updated form’s availability.
