Comments sought on conduit itemization threshold

October 28, 2022

On October 28, 2022, the Commission published a notice of availability in the Federal Register at 87 Fed. Reg. 65178 that seeks public comment on a petition for rulemaking filed by WinRed, Inc.

WinRed asks the Commission to amend its regulations regarding the threshold amount at which conduits forwarding contributions to political committees must identify the contributors to the recipient political committees and the Commission.

Specifically, the petition asks the Commission to amend 11 CFR § 110.6 to establish an itemization threshold for conduits equal to the contribution amount at which political committees must report the identity of contributors.

Public comments on the petition are due by December 27, 2022. Commenters are encouraged to submit comments electronically (reference REG 2022-05) via the Commission’s website.
