Candidate committees, remember to file your 48-hour notices!

April 23, 2018

As primary season heats up, authorized committees of candidates are reminded to file 48-hour notices for all contributions (including loans) of $1,000 or more received less than 20 days but more than 48 hours before their election date. (The applicable periods for each state are posted on our reporting dates web page.) These notices must be received by the Commission (or by the Secretary of the Senate, for Senate candidates) within 48 hours of the committee’s receipt of the contribution(s). E-filers must file these notices electronically. Senate candidates and other paper filers may fax their notices to the Commission or the Secretary of the Senate, as appropriate. For more information, please see the Commission’s 48-Hour notices web page.
