Can my campaign accept LLC contributions?
The answer depends on its tax status. If a limited liability company (LLC) chooses to be considered a corporation for tax purposes, it is subject to the ban on corporate contributions. On the other hand, those taxed as a partnership may contribute subject to the limits for partnerships. When making a contribution, this type of LLC must notify the recipient committee that it is eligible to contribute and indicate how the contribution should be attributed. Remember that a partnership contribution always counts against the limits of the participating partners, as well as the partnership’s limit.
