Presidential transition and inauguration

Federal law authorizes the General Services Administration (GSA) to provide the President-elect and the Vice President-elect the services and facilities needed to assume their official duties. The FEC does not regulate the transition activities or funding.

An inaugural committee is appointed by the President-elect to be in charge of the presidential inaugural ceremony and activities connected with the ceremony. This section explains the rules for donating to inaugural committees and how those donations are reported to the FEC.
