Enforcement

MUR 6764
- COMPLAINANT: James Cargas
- RESPONDENT: Lissa Squiers for Congress Campaign and Lissa Squiers, in her official capacity as treasurer (the Committee)
- SUBJECT: The complaint alleged that the Committee failed to file timely and accurate financial disclosure reports with the Commission. Squiers was a 2012 primary election candidate for Texas’s 7th Congressional District.
- DISPOSITION: The Commission exercised its prosecutorial discretion and dismissed the matter. The Commission observed that the Committee is now inactive, has requested termination and has filed a disclosure report covering the activity at issue in the complaint.
Litigation
- FEC v. Craig for U.S. Senate, et al. (Case 1:12-cv-00958-ABJ). On April 26, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit issued a Mandate.
- Level the Playing Field, et al. v. FEC (Case 1:15-cv-00961-TSC). On May 5, the Commission filed a Motion for Summary Judgment and Opposition to the Plaintiffs' Motion for Summary Judgment.
- Libertarian National Committee, Inc. v. FEC (Case 1:16-cv-00121-BAH). On May 2, the
- Plaintiffs filed a Memorandum of Points and Authorities in Opposition to FEC's Motion to Dismiss in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
- Republican Party of Louisiana et al. v. FEC (Case 1:15-cv-01241-CRC-SS-TSC). On April 29, the Commission filed its Reply in Support of its Motion to Dissolve Three-Judge Court with Instructions to Dismiss or, Alternatively, to Dismiss Action in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
- Stop Reckless Economic Instability caused by Democrats, et al. v. FEC (Case 15-1455). On May 2, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit issued a Mandate.
