Presidential transition and inauguration expenses
While the FEC’s jurisdiction is generally limited to the financing of federal elections, the president-elect’s inaugural committee must register with the FEC by letter and file a report within 90 days of the inauguration using FEC Form 13. See 11 CFR 104.21. There are no restrictions on donations to the inaugural committee, except foreign nationals cannot contribute. 36 U.S.C. § 510(c).
