Conventions and meetings
Conventions and meetings are good opportunities for connected organizations to reach potential contributors to their SSFs. Part of the planning process should include a review of the SSF solicitation rules.
For example, since SSF solicitations may only be directed to an organization’s restricted class, any pre-meeting publicity that is distributed beyond the restricted class must not include a solicitation. (An impermissible solicitation will occur, even if unintended, when an organization provides information beyond the restricted class on how to contribute to its SSF or when it encourages support of the SSF.)
For more information on the rules for SSF solicitations, please consult our solicitations at conventions and meetings webpage, or call our Information Division at 800-424-9530 (select option 6).
