Summer Deadlines and Vacations

June 26, 2008

It's Summer, so staff may be out of the office on vacation. In addition, the Commission will be closed Friday, July 4. Be sure to plan for these days off yet keep up with upcoming reporting deadlines. For many committees, the next report due is the July 15 quarterly report, but some have a report due sooner than that. The July quarterly is waived for committees filing the Kansas, Michigan, Missouri and Oklahoma Pre-Primary Reports, the Georgia Pre-Runoff Report, the Michigan Green Party Pre-Convention Report and the Maryland 4th District Post-General Report. Those campaigns - and quarterly-filing PACs or party committees that have made previously undisclosed contributions/expenditures in connection with those elections - must instead file a Pre-Election report that covers both the quarterly and pre-election periods. In some cases, the report is due on July 3. For coverage dates and filing deadlines, consult the chart of Congressional pre-election reporting deadlines, available online at https://transition.fec.gov/info/charts_primary_dates.shtml.
