Special rules for television and radio ads
In addition to the written requirements for television ads, additional disclosures are required for political committees and independent expenditures. For candidate committee communications, the candidate must deliver an audio statement identifying themself and stating that they have approved of the communication.
Radio or television communications by PACs, parties, individuals or groups must include an audio statement from a representative of the payee indicating who is responsible for the communication. This is in addition to the statements identifying who paid for the communication and that it is not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee.
Please note that internet disclaimer provisions do not impose the “stand by your ad” requirements applicable to radio and television advertisements.
