Registering Your Principal Campaign Committee and Other Authorized Committees
A candidate for office must have one Principal Campaign Committee, and may have additional authorized committees. When filling out your committee's Statement of Organization (FEC Form 1) - be sure that your main committee for the campaign is indicated as the principal campaign committee by checking Box 5A. Any other committees authorized by your candidate (for example, a campaign committee still in existence from a previous election or a joint fundraising committee for a joint fundraiser in which your campaign is participating) should be indicated as such by checking Box 5B on your Statement of Organization.
