Receiving contributions from unregistered groups

Campaigns that accept contributions from groups that are not political committees registered with the FEC (such as state PACs, unregistered local party committees or nonfederal campaigns) must make sure the contributions comply with the per election limits and come from funds that are permissible under the Act. When reporting a contribution from an unregistered organization, a campaign should note that the contribution contains only federally permissible funds.
