Only candidates file 48-Hour Notices for $1,000+ contributions
PACs and parties are often confused by the last-minute reporting requirements discussed in last week's tip. In particular, PACs and party committees are not required to file 48-Hour notices to disclose large last-minute contributions. Those notices are only filed by campaigns. PACs and party committees, however, must file 24-hour reports of independent expenditures they have made. See last week's tip and your Campaign Guide for details.
