Nonfederal Fundraising by Federal Candidates

Federal candidates and officeholders may solicit funds that comply with the Act’s limitations and prohibitions and applicable State law at a nonfederal fundraising event, as long as the solicitation either (1) is limited on its face to federally permissible funds, or (2) the candidate or officeholder uses an appropriate, clear and conspicuous written or oral disclaimer that the solicitation is limited to federally permissible funds.
