Leadership PACs identify their sponsors on FEC Form 1

May 21, 2018

A leadership PAC is a political committee established, financed, maintained, or controlled by a federal candidate or officeholder, but not authorized by that candidate/officeholder or affiliated with his/her campaign. A leadership PAC  identifies its sponsoring candidate/officeholder on line 6 of its Statement of Organization (FEC Form 1). For more information on leadership PACs, see the Commission’s “Types of nonconnected committees” web page.
