Advisory to Daybook Editors, Correspondents, Broadcasters:

The Federal Election Commission’s open meeting agenda for Thursday, May 27, will include items first discussed at the May 20 meeting, "Proposed Final Rules on Matching Credit Card and Debit Card Contributions in Presidential Campaigns," and a draft advisory opinion, 1999-09, requested by Bill Bradley for President, Inc., Robert F. Bauer, counsel. There was no final action on these matters in the May 20 session. Discussion on these items will continue tomorrow, May 27, 10 a.m., in the Commission’s 9th floor hearing room, 999 E Street NW.

Copies of the Federal Election Commission’s Annual Report 1998 are available to the media through the FEC Press Office. Among other highlights, the report chronicles calendar year 1998, profiles legal issues, details legislative recommendations, discusses the Presidential Public Funding program, and contains numerous charts and graphs on campaign finance activity. The Annual Report will be on the FEC Website (www.fec.gov) this week.
