On Thursday, July 20, the Federal Election Commission will meet in Open Session to consider the adoption of one Advisory Opinion. This Advisory Opinion responds to a request from Unity ’08 that asks whether the organization, which is planning to identify, promote, and finance an independent candidacy for President and Vice President in 2008, would be required to register with the FEC, file disclosure reports as a political committee, and abide by the contribution limits limits and source prohibitions applicable to political committees. Meetings are held at 10 a.m. in the 9th floor hearing room at the Commission’s offices at 999 E Street N.W. in Washington.
