FEC to host May 23 webinar for trade associations and their PACs (2018)
The Commission will hold a one-day online seminar for trade associations and their political action committees (PACs) on May 23, 2018. Commission staff will conduct several technical workshops on the federal campaign finance laws affecting trade associations and their PACs. Workshops are designed for those seeking an introduction to the basic provisions of the law as well as for those more experienced in campaign finance law.
Attendees can choose one of two options. Option 1 includes three sessions: a morning session, Basics for Beginners, which will introduce federal campaign finance laws, regulations, and reporting requirements to those new to federal committees; and a two-part Trade Association PAC Operations webinar in the afternoon, which will go into much more detail on fundraising and disclosure rules that apply to trade association PACs. Option 2, for those more experienced in trade PACs, includes just the two afternoon sessions.
Participants will be able to download electronic copies of the workshop materials in advance, and will receive additional instructions and technical information shortly before the event. The cost to participate for Option 1 is $80. The cost for Option 2 is $60. Refunds (minus a $20 registration fee) will be made for all cancellations received by 5 PM EDT on Friday, May 18; no refund will be made for cancellations received after that date.
