FEC clarifies enforcement policies

December 22, 2009

On December 17, the Commission approved two items to better explain enforcement procedures to the regulated community: 1) a Guidebook for Complainants and Respondents on the FEC Enforcement Process, that summarizes the Commission's general enforcement policies and procedures and provides a step-by-step guide through the Commission's enforcement process and 2) a Directive on Enforcement Procedures to provide status reports to respondents and the Commission in enforcement matters.
