FEC Announces Weekend and Extended Hours

FEC ANNOUNCES WEEKEND AND EXTENDED HOURS
WASHINGTON -- The Federal Election Commission has scheduled weekend and extended hours for the Public Records Office to accommodate press and public seeking review of campaign disclosure reports filed by Presidential, Senate and House candidates, PACs, and political party committees.
From October 14 through November 6 the hours are:
Mondays - Fridays ....................9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Saturdays...................................10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Sundays......................................12 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Campaign disclosure reports due in the month of October are the October quarterly report, October monthly and Pre-General election reports. October quarterly and October monthly reports cover financial activity through September 30, 2000, and are due by close of business Sunday, October 15, or Friday, October 20 if sent by regular mail or hand-delivered. If sent certified or registered mail, these reports must be postmarked no later than midnight of the due date.
Pre-General election reports include financial activity for the period of October 1, 2000, through October 18, 2000, and are due by close of business Thursday, October 26, 2000, if sent by regular mail or hand-delivered. If sent by certified or registered mail, these reports must be postmarked by midnight Monday, October 23, 2000. Senate campaigns file their reports with the Secretary of the Senate, who then transmits the reports to the FEC. All other committees file their reports directly with the FEC. Reports of last minute independent expenditures and contributions of $1,000 or more (24-hour and 48-hour reports) will also be received daily by the FEC for activity occurring after October 18.
Digital images of campaign finance reports are now available on the FEC Website, www.fec.gov. All reports filed by PACs, political parties, Presidential, Senate and House campaigns are available for viewing on the Web within 48 hours of the reports being received by the FEC.
