Court of Appeals Issues Opinion in Combat Veterans for Congress PAC v. FEC

WASHINGTON – Today the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit issued its Opinion and Per Curiam Judgment in Combat Veterans for Congress PAC v. FEC (Case 13-5358). The Court upheld the decision of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia to dismiss the case, in which Plaintiffs had challenged the Commission's imposition of administrative fines for failure to file disclosure reports as required by the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, as amended.

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) is an independent regulatory agency that administers and enforces federal campaign finance laws. The FEC has jurisdiction over the financing of campaigns for the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, the Presidency and the Vice Presidency. Established in 1975, the FEC is composed of six Commissioners who are nominated by the President and confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
