Contributions to Joint Fundraisers

September 26, 2016

Individuals and PACs are sometimes confused as to the total amount they may contribute to a joint fundraising committee, and how their contributions will be allocated among the participants. FEC rules require the joint fundraising solicitation to include certain information, including the names of all participants in the fundraiser, the amount or percentage of each contribution that will be allocated to each participant and a note that contributions may be designated for a particular participant. The maximum amount a contributor may give to a joint fundraiser is the total amount that individual or entity may contribute to all participants without exceeding any limits. See our brochure and our e-learning video for more information on joint fundraising rules.
