Administrative fines calculator

February 1, 2006

The Commission has updated and improved the Administrative Fines calculator on its website. The improvements will make it easier for filers to determine the amount of any possible fine and will provide information that may help them avoid filing late reports. The new calculator replaces two separate online calculators for reports due before and after the fine schedule changed in April 2003. It offers pop-ups to help users determine if they are late or nonfilers and to explain each factor used to calculate the fine.

All candidate committees should also be aware that the base fine for 48-Hour Notices has increased from $100 to $110.
