20-day loan repayment clock is ticking

November 28, 2016

Candidates who personally loaned their campaign more than $250,000 for the 2016 general election and would like to be repaid in full have until November 28 to obtain that repayment; and the campaign may only use contributions made on/before Election Day to repay amounts over $250,000. After November 28, the campaign can only repay up to $250,000 of any candidate loans, and the remaining balance becomes a contribution. For more information, see 11 CFR 116.11 and Chapter 4, Section 13 of the Congressional Campaign Guide.
