Donations to nonfederal candidates
Reporting on PAC forms
Political action committees report making donations to nonfederal candidates on Form 3X, Line 29. The committee must itemize the donation on Schedule B for Line 29 if payments to the same payee aggregate more than $200 for the calendar year.
The PAC reports giving $500 to Monty Don for Governor on Schedule B, supporting Line 29. It includes the committee’s address, date the contribution was given, and amount. In the purpose of disbursement field, the committee notes that this is a “Nonfederal contribution.”
Reporting with FECFile
To enter a contribution to a nonfederal candidate, go to the Summary Page tab, right click on “Line 29 Other disbursements” and select ”new.”
