COMPLAINANT:

SUBJECT: Contributions-Prohibited; Contributions-Limitations; Contributions-Excessive; Contributions-Corporations; Reporting

DISPOSITION: The Commission decided by a vote of 4-0 to take the following actions in MUR 8206:1. Dismiss the allegation that We Deserve Better, Inc. and Justin Phillips in his official capacity as treasurer violated 52 U.S.C. §§ 30104(b), 30116(a) and 30118(a) by making unreported prohibited and excessive in-kind contributions to Dean 24, Inc. and Dean Phillips. 2. Dismiss the allegation that the Dean 24, Inc. and Andrew Minck in his official capacity as treasurer violated 52 U.S.C. §§ 30104(b), 30116(f) and 30118(a) by knowingly accepting or receiving unreported excessive and prohibited in-kind contributions from We Deserve Better, Inc. 3. Dismiss the allegation that Dean Phillips violated 52 U.S.C. § 30116(f) and 30118(a) by receiving excessive and prohibited in-kind contributions from We Deserve Better, Inc. 4. Dismiss the allegation that We Deserve Better, Inc. and Justin Phillips in his official capacity as treasurer violated 52 U.S.C. §§ 30116(f) and 30118(a) by receiving excessive and prohibited contributions.5. Approve the Factual and Legal Analysis, as recommended in the First General Counsel’s Report dated January 30, 2025, subject to the edits circulated by Commissioner Lindenbaum’s Office on March 26, 2025 at 2:48 p.m., and further subject to the edits discussed at the table.6. Approve the appropriate letters.7. Close the file effective 30 days from the date the certification of this vote is signed (or on the next business day after the 30th day, if the 30th day falls on a weekend or holiday).
