COMPLAINANT:
SUBJECT: Reporting
DISPOSITION: The Commission decided by a vote of 5-1 to take the following actions in MUR 8000:
1. Accept the Conciliation Agreement with Jim Jordan for Congress and Thomas Datwyler in his official capacity as treasurer, as recommended in the Memorandum to the Commission dated June 24, 2022.
2. Approve the appropriate letter.
3. Close the file.
The Commission failed by a vote of 1-5 to amend a pending motion with a substitute to:
Send this matter to the Alternative Dispute Resolution Office.
The Commission decided by a vote of 5-1 to:
a. Open a Matter Under Review.
b. Find reason to believe that Jim Jordan for Congress and Thomas Datwyler in his official capacity as treasurer violated 52 U.S.C. § 30104(b)(2), (4) and 11 C.F.R. § 104.3(a), (b) by failing to timely and accurately disclose disbursements and receipts.
c. Approve the Factual and Legal Analysis, as recommended in the First General Counsel’s Report dated April 7, 2022.
d. Enter into conciliation with Jim Jordan for Congress and Thomas Datwyler in his official capacity as treasurer prior to a finding of probable cause to believe.
e. Approve the conciliation agreement, as recommended in the First General Counsel’s Report dated April 7, 2022.
f. Approve the appropriate letter.
