DISPOSITION: The Commission decided by a vote of 4-2 to take the following action in MUR 7943:1. Find no reason to believe that Common Good Virginia and Lillie Louise Lucas in her official capacity as treasurer, Val Demings for U.S. Senate and Lauren Decot Lee in her official capacity as treasurer, and Val Demings violated 52 U.S.C. § 30125(e)(1)(A) and 11 C.F.R. § 300.61.2. Find no reason to believe that Common Good Virginia and Lillie Louise Lucas in her official capacity as treasurer made, and that Val Demings and Val Demings for U.S. Senate and Lauren Decot Lee in her official capacity as treasurer knowingly accepted, prohibited or excessive in-kind contributions, in violation of 52 U.S.C. §§ 30116(a), (f), and 11 C.F.R. §§ 110.1(b)(1), 110.9, in the form of email communications.3. Find no reason to believe that Common Good Virginia and Lillie Louise Lucas in her official capacity as treasurer, violated 52 U.S.C. § 30116(a)(1) and 11 C.F.R. § 110.1(b)(1) by making an excessive contribution by using its email list on behalf of Val Demings.4. Find no reason to believe that Val Demings violated 52 U.S.C. § 30116(f) and 11 C.F.R. § 110.9 by knowingly accepting an excessive contribution in the form of the value of Common Good Virginia’s use of an email list on Demings’ behalf at no charge or less than the usual and normal charge.5. Find no reason to believe that Val Demings for U.S. Senate and Lauren Decot Lee in her official capacity as treasurer violated 52 U.S.C. §§ 30104(b) and 30116(f) and 11 C.F.R. § 110.9 by knowingly accepting and failing to report an excessive contribution in the form of the value of Common Good Virginia’s use of an email list on Demings’ behalf at no charge or less than the usual and normal charge.6. Find no reason to believe that Common Good Virginia violated 52 U.S.C. § 30104(c)(1), (2), (g) and 11 C.F.R. § 109.10 by failing to report independent expenditures.7. Close the file.8. Issue the appropriate letters.
