COMPLAINANT:

SUBJECT: Contributions-Prohibited; Foreign Nationals

DISPOSITION: The Commission decided by a vote of 5-0 to take the following actions in MUR 7035: 1. Accept the conciliation agreement with Australian Labor Party, as recommended in the Memorandum from the Acting General Counsel dated January 30, 2018. 2. Accept the conciliation agreement with Bernie 2016 and Susan Jackson in her official capacity as treasurer, as recommended in the Memorandum from the Acting General Counsel dated January 30, 2018. 3. Approve the appropriate letters. 4. Close the file.
The Commission decided by a vote of 4-0 to take the following actions in MUR 7035: 1. Enter into conciliation prior to a finding of probable cause to believe with Australian Labor Party and Bernie 2016 and Susan Jackson in her official capacity as treasurer. 2. Approve the conciliation agreements, as recommended in the Second General Counsel’s Report dated September 18, 2017. 3. Approve the appropriate letters.
The Commission decided by a vote of 5-0 to: 1. Find reason to believe that the Australian Labor Party violated 52 U.S.C. § 30121(a)(1)(A). 2. Find reason to believe that Bernie 2016 and Susan Jackson in her official capacity as treasurer violated 52 U.S.C. § 30121(a)(2). 3. Approve the Factual and Legal Analysis last circulated by Commissioner Weintraub’s office on March 7, 2017 at 1:35 p.m. and further amended at the table, with conforming amendments made to the additional Factual and Legal Analyses in the case. 4. Authorize the use of compulsory process, including the issuance of appropriate interrogatories, document subpoenas, and deposition subpoenas, as necessary. 5. Approve the appropriate letters.
