DISPOSITION: The Commission failed by a vote of 1-5 to: a. Find no reason to believe that Americans Elect violated 2 U.S.C. §§ 432, 433, and 434. b. Dismiss the allegation that Americans Elect, Eliot Cutler, Angus King, and Angus King for U.S. Senate Campaign and S. Catherine Longley in her official capacity as treasurer violated 2 U.S.C. § 441b(a). c. Approve the Factual and Legal Analyses as recommended in the First General Counsel's Report dated February 3, 2014, as modified accordingly. d. Approve the appropriate letters. e. Close the file.
The Commission decided by a vote of 5-1 to: a. Find no reason to believe that Americans Elect violated 2 U.S.C. §§ 432, 433, and 434. b. Find no reason to believe that Americans Elect, Eliot Cutler, Angus King, and Angus King for U.S. Senate Campaign and S. Catherine Longley in her official capacity as treasurer violated 2 U.S.C. § 441b(a). c. Approve the Factual and Legal Analyses as recommended in the First General Counsel's Report dated February 3, 2014 subject to the edits last circulated by the Chairman's Office and amended at the Table, and authorize technical and conforming edits. d. Approve the appropriate letters. e. Close the file.
