DISPOSITION: The Commission failed by a vote of 2-3 to:a) Find reason to believe that the Harry Truman Fund violated 2 U.S.C. § 441i(b)(1) in connection with the Harry Truman Fund mailer.b) Find no reason to believe that the Harry Truman Fund violated 2 U.S.C. §§ 433 or 434 by failing to register and report as a political committee with the Commission.c) Find no reason to believe that Jason Bennett or George Scarola violated the Act.d) Approve the Factual and Legal Analysis, as recommended in the First General Counsel's Report dated March 17, 2009.e) Authorize the use of compulsory process as to all Respondents and witnesses in this matter, including the issuance of appropriate interrogatories, document subpoenas, and deposition subpoenas, as necessary.f) Approve the appropriate letters.
The Commission decided by a vote of 5-0 to close the file in MUR 6062.
