SUBJECT: Contributions-Corporations; Expenditures-Coordinated
DISPOSITION: The Commission decided by a vote of 5-0 to take the following actions in MURs 5779 and 5805:1. Find no reason to believe that the City of Santa Clarita violated 2 U.S.C. § 441b by making an independent expenditure on behalf of a clearly identified Federal candidate. 2. Find no reason to believe that the City of Santa Clarita violated 2 U.S.C. § 441b by making an in-kind contribution in the form of a coordinated communication to a clearly identified Federal candidate. 3. Find no reason to believe that the City of Santa Clarita violated 2 U.S.C. § 433 by failing to register with the Federal Election Commission as a political committee. 4. Approve the Factual and Legal Analysis, as recommended in the First General Counsel's Report dated March 27, 2007. 5. Approve the appropriate letters. 6. Close the file.
