DISPOSITION: The Commission decided by a vote of 5-0 to take the following actions in MUR 7227: 1. Accept the conciliation agreement, as recommended in the Memorandum to the Commission dated May 17, 2017. 2. Approve the appropriate letter. 3. Close the file.
The Commission decided by a vote of 5-0 to: 1. Open a MUR. 2. Find reason to believe that Carpenters Legislative Improvement Committee United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, and Andris Silins in his official capacity as treasurer violated 52 U.S.C. §§ 30104(b), 30116(f). 3. Find reason to believe that Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters Legislative Improvement Committee United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America, and Randy Thornhill in his official capacity as treasurer violated 52 U.S.C. §§ 30104(b), 30116(f). 4. Find reason to believe that Southwest Carpenters Vacation Trust violated 52 U.S.C. § 30116(a)(1)(C). 5. Take no action as to United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters, Carpenters Southwest Administrative Corporation. 6. Approve the Factual and Legal Analysis, as recommended in the First General Counsel's Report dated December 21, 2016, subject to Commissioner Petersen's edit made at the table. 7. Authorize conciliation prior to a finding of probable cause to believe. 8. Approve the proposed Conciliation Agreement, as recommended in the First General Counsel's Report dated December 21, 2016. 9. Approve the appropriate letters.
