U.S. Senate, July 24, 1998; U.S. House Districts 2, 4 and 6, July
18, 1998; U.S. House Districts 1, 3 and 5, July 20, 1998.
4 The Libertarian party convention date is April 18, 1998.
5 The Libertarian party convention date is May 9, 1998.
The Reform party convention date is June 6, 1998.
6 The Reform party convention date is July 11, 1998.
7 The Libertarian party convention date is April 5, 1998.
8 The Independent American party convention date is May
9, 1998.
9 The election for Resident Commissioner to the U.S. House
of Representatives in Puerto Rico is held every four years, coinciding
with the Presidential election.
10 The Reform party convention date is April 18, 1998.
The convention date for Natural Law party is April 27, 1998, and
the convention date for the Libertarian and U.S. Taxpayers parties
is May 9, 1998.
11 The Libertarian party convention dates are March 14,
1998, for single and partial county districts, and March 21, 1998,
for multi-county districts.
12 Nominating conventions are held by the state parties
prior to the primary. Democratic convention: May 2, 1998. Republican
convention: May 9, 1998. Independent American convention: May
16, 1998. Libertarian convention: May 23, 1998.
13 Political parties may choose to nominate candidates
by convention rather than by primary. The Democratic convention
date for U.S. House Districts 5, 10 and 11 is May 30, 1998. The
Democratic convention date for U.S. House Districts 6 and 9 is
June 6, 1998. The Democratic convention date for U.S. House Districts
1 and 7 is June 9, 1998. The Republican convention date for U.S.
House District 6 is May 9, 1998. The Republican convention date
for U.S. House Districts 5 and 9 is May 23, 1998. All other districts
participate in the primary election.
14 The Libertarian party convention date is May 9, 1998.
