COMMISSION MEETINGS AND HEARINGS

No Commission open meetings or executive sessions were scheduled this week.

ENFORCEMENT

The Commission made public one closed case, as follows. For more information, see the case documents in the Enforcement Query System.

MUR 6764
COMPLAINANT: James Cargas
RESPONDENT: Lissa Squiers for Congress Campaign and Lissa Squiers, in her official capacity as treasurer (the Committee)
SUBJECT: The complaint alleged that the Committee failed to file timely and accurate financial disclosure reports with the Commission. Squiers was a 2012 primary election candidate for Texas’s 7th Congressional District.
DISPOSITION: The Commission exercised its prosecutorial discretion and dismissed the matter. The Commission observed that the Committee is now inactive, has requested termination and has filed a disclosure report covering the activity at issue in the complaint.

LITIGATION

FEC v. Craig for U.S. Senate, et al. (Case 1:12-cv-00958-ABJ). On April 26, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit issued a Mandate.

Level the Playing Field, et al. v. FEC (Case 1:15-cv-00961-TSC). On May 5, the Commission filed a Motion for Summary Judgment and Opposition to the Plaintiffs' Motion for Summary Judgment.

Libertarian National Committee, Inc. v. FEC (Case 1:16-cv-00121-BAH). On May 2, the
Plaintiffs filed a Memorandum of Points and Authorities in Opposition to FEC's Motion to Dismiss in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

Republican Party of Louisiana et al. v. FEC (Case 1:15-cv-01241-CRC-SS-TSC). On April 29, the Commission filed its Reply in Support of its Motion to Dissolve Three-Judge Court with Instructions to Dismiss or, Alternatively, to Dismiss Action in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

Stop Reckless Economic Instability caused by Democrats, et al. v. FEC (Case 15-1455). On May 2, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit issued a Mandate.
