Federal Election Commission
August 30, 2010
This summary includes Independent Expenditures (spending that expressly advocates the election or defeat of specified candidates and is not coordinated with campaigns or parties) made by individuals or groups. It also shows individuals and organizations who make electioneering communications (broadcast ads close to an election that make reference to a federal candidate and are targeted to the candidates' jurisdiction).
Note: These tables include Independent Expenditures made by Party Committees, along with any group internal communications (spending by a membership group to advocate the election or defeat of candidates that goes only to members of the group) as well as the expenditures and electioneering communications described above.
